How should I dress?
There is no dress code. Our lead pastor typically wears jeans, and our services tend to be informal. BCC is a come-as-you-are church.
How long is the service?
Our Sunday gathering lasts for approximately 90 minutes.
What is the music like?
Our Sunday morning musicians typically pull selections from the contemporary Christian genre. Our worship bands, consisting entirely of auditioned volunteers from our congregation, usually lead worship from a full band that includes acoustic, electric, and bass guitars; piano and keyboard; drums; and multiple vocalists.
We desire to be a church who worships the Lord in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). Our time of musical worship is a great opportunity to sing songs of praise and adoration that flow from one’s heart. You will find that there is a freedom for personal expression of worship to the Lord, provided that t is done in an orderly manner and not distracting (I Corinthians 14:26-40). We value authentic worship from the congregation over performance from our musicians.
What are the sermons like?
Our messages are intended to call people to greater faith, hope, love, and obedience to Jesus Christ. Our sermons come in various forms (exegetical to topical) but always focus on God’s word for us today. You will find our speakers to be real and relevant.
Why does BCC observe communion every week?
We take communion every week because we see this as the pattern of the New Testament Church (Acts 2:42; Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:20, 25) and the centerpiece of Christian worship (I Corinthians 11:20-34). We do this as a symbolic act, to keep our life and church centered on Jesus. This is a great time of reflection and encouragement.
Will I be pressured to give money?
No. We rarely talk about money and do not expect guests to give to our church family. We do however, believe that those calling BCC their home should tithe to the church to support its ministries. We believe, inevitably, that all giving is to the Lord and is a spiritual act of worship.
You can leave your tithes and offerings in the lock box at the back of the sanctuary, or you can give through our website or mobile app.
The Elders of BCC take the stewardship of these resources very seriously and have developed a process which ensures accountability and transparency to our church body. For more information, please feel free to contact our staff.
Is there childcare?
Yes. Children through 6th grade stay in the sanctuary during the beginning of the worship service, then they are dismissed to their classes before the sermon is given.
All children’s workers have received a background check, been properly trained, and love Jesus. We have a caring volunteer team who provides an engaging environment where your children will be taught the foundations of the faith and grow in their love of Jesus and one another. It is an honor to serve them!
How can I get connected at BCC?
You will find our church family to be warm and inviting. Like any relationship though, you will need to do your part. Here are a few tips on getting connected:
1: Download the BCC mobile app: This is our primary form of communication. From here, you can see the weekly news and events, submit prayer requests, give, and access discipleship resources.
2: Fill out the connection card: The connection card give you an opportunity to share your basic information with the leaders of our church so we can pray for you specifically. Fill out the connection card here.
3: Make friends: We encourage you to take the initiative to get to know those in our church family. You will find that we are not just a Sunday morning church, but also a group of people who genuinely love each other and spend time together outside of official church functions. We are a church that does not rely on organized events to facilitate authentic relationships. Remember, community is not something you find, but rather, it is something you create.
